| Environmental protection has become one of the most critical issues facing our planet as we approached the end of the 20th century. Problems ranging from the impact of toxic waste to the depletion of the ozone layer are threatening the future stability of our ecosystem. Recognizing the need to address the growing environmental crisis, Rotary International launched its Preserve Planet Earth (PPE) program in 1990. Many Rotary Clubsarehelpingsolve environmental problems by establishing animal sanctuaries, sponsoring educational activitiesand promoting ecological practices. |
