Dr Jong-Kee Yeo received his B S Chem Eng in 1970 and M Sc Chem Eng from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea and his Ph D in 1981 from Lehigh University,Bethlehem, PA, USA. Dr Yeo was Principal Research Scientist and General Manager 1981- 85 and subsequently Managing Director 1989-1992 and Senior Managing Director 1992-1995 at the Lucky Central Research Institute, Lucky Ltd Science Town, Taejon, Korea. In 1996-1999 he became Senior Executive Vice President of LG Chemical Ltd and President LG Chem Research Park, LG Chemical Ltd (formerly Lucky Ltd). In 2000 Dr Yeo became President of LG Chemical Ltd, LG Chem Research Park and LG Chemical Ltd.

Dr Yeo has had a remarkable impact on the Korean Chemical Industry, holding 37 Korean patents, 5 US patents, 2 Japanese patents and 3 German patents. He also has 24 publications covering various aspects of polymer chemistry.

Dr Yeo received the Industrial R and D Achievement Award, Polymer Society of Korea 1988, Industrial Technology Achievement Award, Korea Institute of Chemical Engineers 1985, The Order of Industrial Service Merit - Tin Tower, the Government of Korea 1984 and the Gold Medal for Excellent Achievement in R and D, Luck Ltd in 1982.

Dr Yeo is a Fellow of the Korea Institute of Chemical Engineers, The Korean Chemical Society, The Polymer Society of Korea and the Korean Rheological Society.

He receives the FACS Distinguish Contribution to Economic Development Award for 2001.
