Prof Noller presented a variety of reports
- Chemistry and the Internet: Conference in USA, September 1998 ( Prof Xiaoxia Li)
- Asia Pacific Food Analysis Network (APFAN): reports on Meetings at Chiang Mai, Thailand (November 1998), Brisbane, Australia ( May 1999); report on the practical kits for cyanide and thiocyanate testing related to cassava and a brief report to ACGC XV (Prof Howard Bradbury). Dr. Alarcon noted the need to acknowledge UNESCO support for two participants to an APFAN activity.
- Commonwealth Research on Environmental Needs (CREN): The 10th anniversary of the project was celebrated in 1999 at its birthplace, Brisbane, Australia with the Workshop "Environmental Impact of Air Pollution". Prof Noller noted that the Commonwealth Science Council was developing 'Knowledge Networks" based on email, using two themes: first, air pollution and second, mining and the environment, both providing a broad base of participation.

Prof Noller presented apologies from COSTED, whose delegate Prof Thyagarajan had recently been posted to the ICSU Office in Cairo.
Prof Noller also noted the demise of APINMAP as an informatics project of UNESCO.
A broad discussion ensued concerning the problem of arsenic contamination in Asia and it was considered a promising theme for a Knowledge Network of the CSC.
