学术成就和学术贡献简述

陈晓东教授长期从事材料化学和表界面化学研究和教学,通过整合化学、材料科学、电子工程、力学、生物工程和数据科学在内的跨学科研究,在柔性生物电子和人工感知的研究中取得了开创性的成就。在包括Nature, Nature Electronics, JACS, Angew Chem, Nature Communications等重要学术期刊上发表论文330余篇,引用31000余次,H因子95;并申请/授权专利60项。其重要学术成果如下:1) 通过界面化学、超分子化学、界面结构设计,实现功能化柔性器件。例如。具有抗撕裂、自我修复、高拉伸率(400%)特性的聚合物薄膜电极;具有透明性、透气性、机械坚固性、溶液可加工性的基于蚕丝蛋白的柔性器件。2)将柔性复合材料用于生物电子界面,实现了生理传感信号的精确测量。例如,他实现了与植物的接口与通信, 开发了以捕蝇草叶片为驱动单元、共形电极为调制单元的“植物机器人”;研发了可贴在皮肤和服装上的BodyNet可穿戴无线系统,可监测呼吸、脉搏等信号,在拉伸50%时也能保持正常性能。3)生物感知的模拟和扩展。例如,其团队开发了仿生AI数据融合系统,使用类似皮肤的可拉伸的应变传感器收集体感信息,并与视觉信号相结合,实现了高精度的手势识别。这些技术创新极大地推动了下一代个人医疗保健技术、智能传感、智能机器人等领域的发展。

化学公益贡献简述

在促进学科发展及科学传播方面,陈晓东教授关注表界面化学在柔性传感和储能器件的基本科学和技术问题,促进了表界面化学与其他学科的交叉研究。其研究成果多次被包括路透社,BBC新闻等100多家国际媒体报导,有着广泛的社会影响力。其与世界著名大学/研究所的知名科学家建立了广泛的合作关系,例如于2019年与德国马克斯普朗克协会成立联合实验室,开展人工感知研究。
在促进科学传播及国内外交流方面,陈晓东教授长期任包括Advanced Materials, ACS Nano, ACS Materials Letter, Nanoscale等多家科学期刊的副主编及编委成员。他于2020年协助清华大学柔性电子技术研究中心共同策划了《先进材料》(Advanced Materials)专刊《柔性混合电子》,汇聚柔性电子技术领域国际知名学者的前沿研究成果,阐述柔性电子在生物医疗、脑机接口、物联网等方面的潜在应用。另外,陈晓东教授多次邀请国内学者来新加坡交流,多次组织国际会议。例如,协助CCS Chemistry在2018年12月在新加坡化学会年会上(SICC10)组织了CCS Chemistry Spotlight Symposium,并协助在新加坡高校大力宣CCS Chemistry。在2020年初与中科院理化所在新加坡共同举办国际超浸润大会,邀请了接近200名名国内外学者共同讨论交流。
