中国化学会—日本化学会合作协议

分别代表两国学会于2009年3月28日在日本东京签署合作协议

Agreement provisions:

1. Objective

To promote the exchange of chemical scientists and chemical engineers from Japan and China, and accordingly to contribute to the development of chemistry and chemical technologies of the two countries and the world.

 

2. Membership

  • Chinese Chemical Society members residing in China who are members or apply for membership to the Chemical Society of Japan shall be able to receive a fifteen percent (15%) discount on their membership admission fees and annual dues.

  • The Chemical Society of Japan members residing in Japan who are members or apply for membership to Chinese Chemical Society shall be able to receive a fifteen percent (15%) discount on their membership admission fees and annual dues.

 

3. Annual Meetings

 

(1) Participation

  • The Chemical Society of Japan shall invite chemical scientists and/or chemical engineers from China to the Annual Meeting of the Chemical Society of Japan.

  • Chinese Chemical Society shall invite chemical scientists and/or chemical engineers from Japan to the Annual Meeting of Chinese Chemical Society.

 

(2) Presentations

  • Members of Chinese Chemical Society may present the results of their research at the Annual Meeting of the Chemical Society of Japan, following a review and approval of the research presentation materials by the Chemical Society of Japan.

  • Members of the Chemical Society of Japan may present the results of their research at the Annual Meeting of Chinese Chemical Society, following a review and approval of the research presentation materials by the Chinese Chemical Society.

  • In principle, persons who have received awards from his/her Society within the last two (2) years shall always be allowed to lecture at the Annual Meeting of the other Society.

 

(3) Registration and Fees

  • Each Society shall be responsible for registering its own members, residing in its country, who will participate in the other Society’s Annual Meetings.

  • Members of Chinese Chemical Society, residing in China, who will participate in the Annual Meeting of the Chemical Society of Japan shall be able to receive registration fee discounts which are the same for members of the Chemical Society of Japan.

  • Members of the Chemical Society of Japan, residing in Japan, who will participate in the Annual Meeting of Chinese Chemical Society shall be able to receive registration fee discounts which are the same for members of Chinese Chemical Society.

  • Registration fess shall be free for persons who are officially invited by the other Society.

 

4. Other Meetings and Symposiums

  • Chinese Chemical Society members who participate in symposiums or other research meetings that are sponsored by the Chemical Society of Japan shall be able to receive registration fee discounts which are the same for members of the Chemical Society of Japan.

  • Chemical Society of Japan members who participate in symposiums or other research meetings that are sponsored by Chinese Chemical Society shall be able to receive registration fee discounts which are the same for members of Chinese Chemical Society.

 

5. Joint Symposiums

The Chemical Society of Japan and Chinese Chemical Society shall periodically sponsor joint symposiums in their respective countries.

 

6. Exchange of Publications

The Chemical Society of Japan and Chinese Chemical Society shall mutually exchange each other’s membership journals and academic journals free of charge.

 

7. Meetings by Heads of Societies

The Presidents of both Societies shall periodically visit each other to have a meeting.  The location of the meetings shall rotate between Japan and China.

 

8. Additional Measures For Improvement

In pursuing the activities contemplated by this Agreement, both Societies shall make good faith efforts to search for new measures useful in promoting the interaction and exchanges between members of both Societies.  If such measures are discovered, both Societies shall, upon mutual discussion and agreement, add such measures to this Agreement.

 

9. Effective Term

This Agreement shall be effective for ten (10) years from April 1, 2009, and shall be automatically extended for one (1) year each unless either Society provides one (1) year’s prior written notice to terminate.

 

10. Miscellaneous Provisions

 

(1) Individual Responsibility

Unless otherwise agreed, each Society shall only be responsible for its own members and its own expenses incurred in their respective performance under this Agreement.

 

(2) Compliance

The Societies confirm their intent that this Agreement and the activities contemplated hereunder shall not serve as a means for participants to perform or engage in any act or practice prohibited by applicable antitrust/competition laws or any other applicable laws.  Each Society shall inform all of its participants to the activities contemplated by this Agreement accordingly.

 

(3) Non-Confidentiality

Unless otherwise agreed, the Societies shall not be subject to any confidentiality obligations with respect to any information exchanged pursuant to the activities contemplated by this Agreement.

 

(4) Modification

This Agreement may be amended or modified only by writing and signed by both Societies.

 

(5) Amicable Resolution

In the event that any disagreement arises in connection with this Agreement, both Societies shall settle it in good faith through amicable discussion.
